EZGO year identification can be confusing at first because the serial number does not tell you the model year.
Contents
ToggleIn this guide, we’ll show you how to find and read the manufacturer’s code (date code), which is the number you actually need to identify the year.
Knowing both codes helps you order the right parts, confirm the cart’s age, and avoid costly mistakes when servicing or registering it.
Codes to look for:
Serial number: identifies the specific cart and its production sequence.
Manufacturer’s code: indicates the model year and sometimes the production week.
This reference guide organizes EZGO manufacturer’s code formats by year and model so you can identify your cart with confidence.
Understanding the Two Codes

You feel frustrated when parts suppliers ask for the year of your cart, and you can only guess based on its appearance or the previous owner’s claims.
Determining the year shouldn’t require detective work or guesswork that leads to wrong parts and wasted money.
You deserve a clear reference that explains precisely how to read EZGO’s manufacturer’s code without confusion or complexity.
Your Expert Manufacturer’s Code Resource
As an exclusive EZGO dealership, we decode hundreds of manufacturer’s codes (date codes) monthly, helping customers identify their exact model and year for parts and service.
We understand how confusing EZGO’s changing formats can be, especially with decades of different coding systems in place.
Our comprehensive guides compile these various formats into easy-to-use references, saving you time and eliminating guesswork.
Where to Find the EZGO Serial Number and Manufacturer’s Code on Your Cart
Before you can decode your EZGO codes, locate the plate or sticker on the cart. EZGO has used several label placements over the years, depending on the model and production date.
Look for a small metal plate or sticker with a combination of letters and numbers, usually 6–12 characters long.
Here’s where to check:
Common EZGO Plate and Sticker Locations
- Passenger-side dashboard glove box (most TXT and RXV models)
- Passenger-side frame rail under the seat (older Marathon and Medalist models)
- Inside the passenger-side front frame rail (near the battery compartment)
- Rear frame area below the seat (often on Workhorse and commercial models)
- Under the driver’s side seat panel (especially on some utility or Express models)
- Driver-side frame support rail, under the floor mat (rare but possible on older carts)
💡Pro Tip:
Take a clear photo of your serial number once you find it. This makes it easier to reference later, especially if the sticker fades or gets damaged.
EZGO Manufacturer’s Code Decoder: Year, Model, and Format Breakdown
Understanding how to determine the year on an EZGO golf cart requires knowing how the manufacturer’s code (date code) formats changed over the decades and what each component means.
📅 EZGO Year Determination Before 2000 (Older Carts)
EZGO used different coding systems before 2000, but the year is always found in the manufacturer’s code, not the serial number.
1979–1993 Manufacturer’s Code Rule
For 1979–1993 EZGO carts, the year is found in the manufacturer’s code, not the serial number:
Look at the last two digits of the manufacturer’s code.
Those two digits are the model year.
Example: If the manufacturer’s code is A8612, the last two digits “86” mean the cart is from 1986.
1994–2000 Manufacturer’s Code Rule
From 1994–2000, EZGO still uses the same basic rule for the year:
The last two digits of the manufacturer’s code are the model year.
Example: If the manufacturer’s code is A2094:
“94” = 1994 model year
“20” = 20th week of the year (not part of the year itself)
The letter prefix (such as “A”) is usually related to model or factory line, not the year.
EZGO sometimes used day-of-week codes after the week number, making “495” mean 1994, week 9, Friday.
Some serial plates also include a manufacturer’s code below the serial number, such as A2094, where “20” represents the week of the year and “94” indicates the year.
These codes can vary slightly by model, but they help confirm production timing.
The letter prefix (such as “A”) usually refers to the model type, not the year itself. You may also see formats like A2094XXXX or similar combinations.
Manufacturer’s Code vs Serial Number
EZGO often displays both a serial number and a manufacturer’s code (date code), but many owners confuse the two.
The serial number is just a production sequence number (often 6–7 digits, sometimes with a letter prefix). It does not tell you the year.
The manufacturer’s code, typically located just below or next to the serial number, is used to determine the model year and week of production.
For example, if your manufacturer’s code reads A2094:
“94” = 1994 model year
“20” = 20th week of the year
“A” = usually related to model or factory line
Understanding the difference allows you to verify the year, order the correct parts, and avoid guesswork when registering or servicing your cart.
🔢 2000-2010 Numerical Transitions
The new millennium introduced updated coding systems, but the rule for determining the year stayed the same: use the manufacturer’s code, not the serial number.
In the new millennium, EZGO updated its coding systems, but the rule for determining the year stayed the same: use the manufacturer’s code, not the serial number.
2000–2003 Manufacturer’s Code Rule
The last two digits of the manufacturer’s code are the model year.
Examples: “00” = 2000, “01” = 2001, etc.
2004–2010 Manufacturer’s Code Rule
EZGO continued to use the same basic rule:
The last two digits of the manufacturer’s code are the model year.
Example: If the manufacturer’s code is A1206:
“06” = 2006 model year
“12” = 12th week of the year
🏷️ Modern EZGO Year Identification (2011–Present Models)
Current EZGO carts still use the same basic rule: the year is determined from the manufacturer’s code, not the serial number.
2011–Present Manufacturer’s Code Rule
The last two digits of the manufacturer’s code are the model year.
Example: If the manufacturer’s code is J1598:
“98” = 1998 model year
Example: If the manufacturer’s code is F2121:
“21” = 2021 model year
Many modern EZGO carts have a manufacturer’s code that begins with a letter indicating the model line, but the year is still in the last two digits of that code, not in the “next two digits” after the letter.
For example, codes like J1598, S0312, F2121, or L1920:
The last two digits (“98”, “12”, “21”, “20”) are the model year.
The letter prefix is related to model or factory line, not the year itself.
Model-Specific Manufacturer’s Code Patterns
Different models may use different letter prefixes in their manufacturer’s codes, but the year rule is the same:
TXT, RXV, Express, Valor, Liberty, and other EZGO models all use the rule: last two digits of the manufacturer’s code = model year (for 1979+ carts).
EZGO Manufacturer’s Code Patterns by Model Type (TXT, RXV, Express, etc.)
Many EZGO carts have a manufacturer’s code that begins with a letter prefix indicating the model type.
Understanding these prefixes helps you quickly identify your model while using this guide.
Use the chart below to see which model type your cart likely matches based on the code prefix.
💡 Pro Tip: The prefix appears at the beginning of the manufacturer’s code (not the serial number) and helps narrow down both the model and the production period.
Special Cases and Exceptions (Manufacturer’s Code and Serial Numbers)
Some EZGO carts have manufacturer’s codes or serial numbers that don’t follow standard patterns due to special circumstances or manufacturing changes.
Refurbished and Remanufactured Carts
These may have:
- Multiple serial number plates
- “R” prefix indicating refurbishment
- Secondary stickers with rebuild dates
- Original serial retained for frame identification
Private Label and Fleet Models
Special production runs might show:
- Custom prefix codes
- Fleet identification numbers
- Unique formatting for large orders
- Modified year coding systems
International Models
EZGO carts manufactured for export sometimes use:
- Country-specific prefixes
- Metric identification codes
- Alternative date formatting
- Regional compliance numbers

- Check multiple locations if the primary location is unreadable.
- Don’t confuse engine numbers with cart serial numbers or manufacturer’s codes.
- Verify your findings against known model features (e.g., 36V vs 48V, TXT vs RXV).
- Contact professionals when in doubt about identification.
Remember that accurate manufacturer’s code identification is the foundation for proper maintenance and parts ordering throughout your cart’s life.
Your Manufacturer’s Code Questions Answered
1. What if my EZGO serial number doesn’t match any pattern on this list?
Some special edition, custom, or fleet models used unique coding. Also, very early pre-1979 models had different systems.
For year identification, always focus on the manufacturer’s code, not the serial number. If your manufacturer’s code looks unusual, contact us with a photo or the exact code for expert help.
2. Why did EZGO change its serial number format so many times?
Manufacturing improvements, computer system updates, and industry standardization drove changes in both serial number and manufacturer’s code formats. Each change aimed to provide clearer information and better tracking capabilities.
3. Can I use this list to verify a used EZGO before buying?
Absolutely. Using the manufacturer’s code (not the serial number alone) to confirm the year helps you verify the seller’s claims, the cart’s age, and parts compatibility for accurate pricing.
4. Do refurbished EZGOs keep their original serial numbers?
Yes, the frame retains its original serial number. However, refurbished carts may have additional stickers or plates indicating rebuild dates or refurbishment details.
5. What’s the most confusing EZGO serial number format?
The 1994-2000 transition period confuses many owners because it changed from letters to numbers mid-decade. The “495” format (year + week) is particularly confusing for people.
6. Are there fake EZGO serial numbers on clone carts?
Yes, some imported clones use fake EZGO-style serial numbers. Authentic EZGO plates have specific fonts, spacing, and mounting methods that distinguish them from copies.
7. Why don’t modern EZGOs just put the year clearly on the serial plate?
The coded format on the manufacturer’s code plate allows more information in less space, including the week of manufacture and production sequence. This helps with recalls, warranty claims, and production tracking.
8. Does the serial number indicate whether my cart is gas or electric?
No, the serial number does not indicate the power source or the year. The manufacturer’s code identifies when your cart was made; the serial number is just a production sequence number. Check the motor/battery compartment or model badges for power type.

Trying to find what car orator was used on EZGO golg cart serial #
81E12 231651
Hello Art,
Based on the serial number 81E12 231651, your EZGO golf cart is a 1981 model. The “81” at the beginning indicates the year 1981.
For this year, gas EZGO carts used the Robin EC25 244cc 2-cycle engine.
* In 1980-1/2, EZGO introduced the EC25-2PG engine model with an external generator/starter by Hitachi
* In 1981, electronic ignition was added to this engine
* The EC25-2PG engine continued in use until 1988
The correct carburetor for your 1981 2-cycle EZGO is:
* OEM part number: 20071-G1
* Alternative numbers: 18342-G1, 26645-G01
* Description: EZGO 2-cycle carburetor 1980-1987
This carburetor fits all 2-cycle EZGO gas models from 1980 to 1987, including your 1981 cart. It’s designed for the Robin EC25 2-cycle engine to ensure proper fit and performance.
We hope this helps you find the right carburetor for your golf cart! These older EZGO models are great carts when properly maintained. If you need any other parts information or have questions about your 1981 EZGO, feel free to contact us. Good luck with your repair!

minpaws2@aol.com
Bob
Hello Bob,
Your E-Z-GO RXV Fleet Electric F316 was manufactured in 2016. The year can be determined by the “F316” portion of your serial number:
> F indicates the sixth month (June).
> 31 indicates the 31st day.
> 6 indicates the last digit of the year, in this case, 2016.
The value of your 2016 RXV Fleet Electric depends on several factors:
* Condition (battery health, body condition, tire wear)
* Hours of use (if the hour meter is working)
* Battery type and age (original batteries or replaced?)
* Any upgrades or accessories
Generally, a 2016 EZGO RXV Fleet Electric in good condition typically ranges from $4,000-$7,000, though prices vary by region and condition. Fleet models are built for durability, which is a plus for resale value.
Feel free to give us a call at (937) 459-8891 and we’ll be glad to discuss your 2016 RXV Fleet Electric and answer any questions you have.
need info for insurance date code is h1519 ser 348181 model 657o61g01 not sure of year or if it’s a rvx
Hi Ken,
Based on the information you shared, we can help narrow down the year and model, but we’d want to verify the data plate to confirm it accurately for insurance purposes. The serial/model numbers suggest an EZGO cart, but the exact year and model line can be tricky to identify from text alone.
Since this is for insurance and getting the model line right affects how the policy is written, give our shop a call at (937) 459-8891. We can walk you through the visual identification over the phone. That way you’ll have accurate documentation to send over to your insurance company.

Model TXTG
Date Code B1504
Serial #2134942
Could someone please confirm the year of this particular cart? I seem to be overthinking it.
Would it be a 2004 model built in week 15? What does the “B” stand for?
Hi Matt,
You’re on the right track and not overthinking it at all. EZGO date codes follow a specific format where the first letter is a manufacturer designation, the next two digits represent the week of manufacture, and the last two digits indicate the model year. So your date code B1504 breaks down as week 15 of 2004, making it a 2004 model just like you suspected.
The “B” is a manufacturer/plant designation code that EZGO uses internally, so it doesn’t affect the year or model identification. The key info is in those last four characters: 15 = week 15, 04 = 2004.
Your TXTG model designation confirms it’s a gas-powered TXT, and your serial number 2134942 is a production sequence number consistent with that era.
So to sum it up, you have a 2004 EZGO TXT Gas. If you need any parts or have more questions, feel free to give us a call at (937) 459-8891!
Can’t figure out the date to my golf cart TXTv 48 Date code is MO811 Serial number2767429
Hi Richard,
Based on the Date Code/Manufacturer Code M0811 provided, your E-Z-GO TXT 48 is a 2011 model.
Year Identification: In E-Z-GO manufacturer codes (1979-present), the last two digits represent the year. Therefore, “11” indicates 2011.
Production Code Breakdown (M0811): The code suggests it was produced in 2011, likely in the 8th week or a specific production month depending on the exact format, confirming the 2011 model year.
Serial Number (2767429): The 7-digit serial number corresponds to the 2011 model year, which aligns with 48-volt TXT models manufactured in that era.
A 2011 build lines up well with what you’re describing. TXT models moved to 48-volt systems starting around 2010, so a TXT 48V from December 2011 fits right into that window rather than the older 36V TXT era.
If you need parts for it, having that confirmed year and the 48V spec will help us get you the correct controller, charger, or battery components on the first try. Give us a call at (937) 459-8891 and we can pull up compatible parts for your exact setup.

Hi Art,
Based on your serial number D503 1594594, you have a 2003 2004 EZGO gas model. The correct primary clutch depends on which engine you have (either Kawasaki or Robin 295cc).
Give us a call at Carts & Parts at (937) 459 8891 and we can help you identify the exact clutch you need and check what options are available for your cart.

My question would this be a 2014 because I have the new body style trying to figure out what year to order parts for 2013 or 2014 but the 2013 is different than my
Hi Shannon,
Your date code G2313 indicates a 2013 model year, so you’ll want to shop for 2013 EZGO TXT 48V parts rather than 2014+ parts. The newer body style you’re seeing can still appear on some carts, but fitment is what matters most, so it’s always best to confirm the year before ordering.
If you have trouble finding the right part for your TXT 48V, we’d be happy to help you narrow it down.
U1689 5482S6, need year and wiring chart, can you help
Hi Robert,
Based on your serial number U1689 5482S6, your EZGO golf cart appears to be a 1994 model. The “U” prefix in EZGO serial numbers typically indicates manufacture during 1994.
When looking for your wiring diagram, you’ll want to specify:
> 1994 EZGO
> Whether it’s gas or electric
> The specific model (Marathon, Medalist, etc.)
This information will ensure you get the correct wiring diagram for your specific cart configuration. Once you have these 3 answers, you can search with your information and view images, as there may be an online wiring diagram for your exact cart.
Let us know how you do or if we can help you further. Good luck!
I have an E-Z-GO golfcart with a manufacturer code of G402 and Serial Number 1507679. I’m trying to identify the year and model for insurance purposes but when I look up the serial number on E-Z-GO’s website it says invalid.
Hi Dalton,
Based on your manufacturer code G402, your E-Z-GO is a 2002 model year gas cart manufactured in April. Here’s how the code breaks down:
G = Gas-powered
4 = April (4th month)
02 = 2002
This is most likely an EZGO TXT model, which was in full production by 2002 with the familiar rounded plastic body style.
The reason you’re having trouble with E-Z-GO’s website lookup is that their online tool doesn’t always recognize older serial number formats. The manufacturer code is your most reliable identifier.
For insurance purposes, you should list this as:
Year: 2002
Make: E-Z-GO
Model: TXT (Gas)
If you need additional verification, you can contact EZGO customer service at 1-888-438-3946 with your serial number – they can access records not available through their website.
Hope this helps with your insurance documentation!
I’m trying to decipher my serial no and mfg code. I’m sure it is a txt model. Not sure of the year.
Serial no. 837654
Mfg. code 22L94.
Hi Bruce,
Thanks for sharing your cart details!
Let’s break it down:
Manufacturer Code: 22L94: The last two digits (94) indicate the year, so your cart was built in 1994. The letter (L) shows the month, which is November.
Model Clarification: Even though you mentioned it may be a TXT, the TXT model line didn’t start until 1996. Carts built in 1994–1995 are actually E-Z-GO Medalist models. They look very similar to the early TXTs, so it’s a common mix-up.
Serial Number: 837654: This is your unique identifier, mainly used for parts lookup, but it doesn’t reveal the year (that’s what the manufacturing code is for).
Summary:
Year: 1994
Model: E-Z-GO Medalist
Mfg Code: 22L94
Serial No.: 837654
So, you have a 1994 E-Z-GO Medalist. Knowing the exact model/year is important for ordering the right parts and accessories.

6150650 serial # on my EZGO. Have. Idea of year and model?
Ernest, To determine the year and model of your EZGO golf cart, the serial number alone (6150650) is often not enough. You’ll also need the manufacturer’s code (sometimes called the date code), which usually consists of a letter and several numbers. The last two digits of this code indicate the model year of your cart.
Look for the manufacturer’s code near where you found the serial number. Common locations are:
> Inside the glove box on the passenger side
> Under the seat
> On the frame rail (driver or passenger side)
The manufacturer’s code will be a combination of a letter followed by numbers (like A9923, where “23” would indicate a 2023 model)
Once you find that manufacturer’s code, we can help decode the exact year and model for you.
Good luck!
I have an ezgo txt and I’m wondering what year it is. Thanks
Manufacturer’s code H103
Serial #2017970
Hi Jesse,
The manufacturer’s code “H103” on your EZGO TXT golf cart indicates the year and production timing as follows:
“H” represents the month of August (the 8th month).
“10” represents the year 2010.
“3” indicates the 3rd week of production that year.
Therefore, your EZGO TXT with serial number 2017970 and manufacturer’s code H103 was manufactured in the 3rd week of August 2010. This means your golf cart is a 2010 model year EZGO TXT.
If you need any other information about your 2010 EZGO TXT or have questions about parts compatibility, feel free to ask!

EZ-GO Textron 36V cart with a dash plaque… 27647-G01. Would this be a 2001 model cart?
Thank you!
Hi Scott,
Yes, based on the “G01” code on your dash plaque, your EZGO Textron 36V cart is most likely a 2001 model. In EZGO’s coding system, the last two digits (“01”) typically indicate the model year—2001 in your case.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!

Manufacture code H2597
Serial number 1039782
Hi Michael,
We are happy to help decode your year and model for you!
Based on your manufacturer code H2597:
Year: 1997
Week of Production: Week 25 (late June)
The breakdown: The first letter indicates the model type, followed by the 2-digit week (25) and 2-digit year (97). The “H” model code from that era typically indicates a gas-powered TXT or Medalist model. To confirm exactly which model you have, take a look at your cart’s physical features:
Medalist: Has a more rounded front cowl/body style
TXT: Features a more squared-off, angular front end (though the TXT was just being introduced in 1997)
Your serial number 1039782 is consistent with EZGO’s format for that production year.
If you need parts or have questions about what fits your cart, feel free to give us a call at (937) 459-8891. We’re always happy to help you find the right match.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hello –
I’ve got a new to me “used” ezgo cart with no dash tag . And trying to figure exactly what i have . It is a 36v for sure found a tag by the batteries and can only read D0308 = 2008 i believe with a serial # 2579759 I do believe it is a TXT model
All help is greatly appreciated !
Hi Greg,
Great find on your EZGO cart!
You’re absolutely right: the code D0308 indicates your cart was built in March 2008, and with a 36-volt system, that aligns perfectly with the EZGO TXT model from that year.
Since the dash tag is missing, the battery compartment tag you found is the next best identifier. You can double-check your model by comparing key TXT features:
* Rounded front cowl (as opposed to the RXV’s more angular design).
* Two separate seat backs for driver and passenger.
* Simple, straight front axle if it’s a standard TXT, versus the lifted frame on the TXT Freedom or TXT PDS.
Hope that helps, and welcome to the EZGO family!
I like to know years of my golf cart.
Serial # A302 145567
Hi Daniel,
The piece we need to read the year is the manufacturer code, which is one letter followed by four digits, with the last two digits being the model year.
What you posted (A302) has only three digits after the letter, so it does not decode cleanly with the standard rule. It is also possible the letter and numbers came from two different fields on the plate, since the manufacturer code and the serial number sit close together and are easy to mix up.
On most EZGO carts, that code is usually on a tag under the passenger-side glove box, under the seat, or on the frame rail, and the last two numbers in that code tell us the year.
I just purchased a 244cc robin ezgo cart. Looking for any info, ser 80j6 213275, need a few parts and need to know the gas mixture.
Thanks
Mike
Hi Mike,
Based on your serial number (80j6 213275), your EZGO cart appears to be from around 1980. The “80” prefix in older EZGO serial numbers typically indicates the year.
Your cart likely uses the EC25-2PG 244cc 2-cycle Robin engine, common in EZGO Marathon models built around 1980 that uses a 2-stroke Fuji Heavy Industries engine.
For gas mixture, EZGO recommends starting with a 40:1 fuel/oil ratio (3.25 oz. two-cycle oil per gallon of regular unleaded gas) for the first 5 hours or after a fresh engine rebuild. After the break-in period, the standard mix is 128:1 (1 oz. oil per gallon of gas). Always thoroughly premix oil and gas in a separate container before adding to the tank instead of just pouring the oil into the tank.

I’m trying to decipher my 2 golf carts. The first one Model TXTPDS, Date Code C1509, Serial # 2646531. Second Model TXTPDS, Date Code C1808, Serial # 2573731. I would like to know so I can order the right parts like bearings and brake pads.
Thank you!
Hi Jimmy,
We are happy to help you decipher your 2 golf carts.
EZGO date codes follow a specific format where the first letter indicates the manufacturer designation, the next two digits show the week of manufacture, and the last two digits represent the year. So C1509 means it was built in week 15 of 2009, and C1808 was built in week 18 of 2008.
Since both of your carts are TXT models from consecutive years, they should use the same or very similar parts. When you’re ordering bearings and brake pads, just make sure to specify that they’re for 2008-2009 EZGO TXT carts.
To make things easy for you , call us at (937) 459-8891 to order your parts. We offer free shipping and transparent pricing.
Looking forward to helping you soon!
model date code E3008 serial number 2597637 label number 75983G09 TXTPDS EZGO CAN YOU TELL ME MY YEAR MODEL PLEASE?
Kerry, your EZGO golf cart model code “E3008” indicates the year and timing of manufacture. For EZGO carts built since 1979, the last two digits of the manufacturer’s code—“08” in your case—mean your cart is a 2008 model year. The “E3” at the start typically identifies the month and production week, but for parts and accessories, the most important detail is that you have a 2008 EZGO TXT PDS.
If you need confirmation, look for supporting details like a rounded front cowl and separate seat backs—these are standard TXT features. Your serial and label numbers are used for dealer or parts lookup, but the date code “E3008” tells you your cart was built in 2008. Let us know if you need help finding compatible replacement parts or accessories! We ship nationwide with free shipping.
Looking at a ez go golf cart and wondering what year and model.
Model # 654601G01
Serial # 3421512
Date code K0919
Hi Troy,
Based on the details you provided, here’s what we can tell you:
Year: Your golf cart is a 2019 model. The date code K0919 breaks down as the 9th week of 2019, which is when your cart was manufactured.
Model Type: The model number 654601G01 indicates you have an EZGO RXV gas-powered golf cart. The “G” in the model number designates it as a gas model.
Your serial number 3421512 confirms this is a 2019 RXV, which is a great cart known for its reliability and performance. The RXV series features improved suspension, better ergonomics, and solid overall construction.
If you need any specific parts or have additional questions about your 2019 RXV, feel free to reach out. We’d be happy to help you find exactly what you need!
I’m trying to find out the year of this EZGO Freedom RXV Golf Cart by Serial Number: 5376584
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
Unfortunately, the serial number alone won’t tell us the year. EZGO uses a separate manufacturer’s code to indicate the model year, not the serial number.
For your Freedom RXV (and most EZGO models from 1994-present), you’ll need to locate the manufacturer’s code on your cart’s build plate. This code is typically one letter followed by 3-4 numbers, where the last two digits indicate the year.
Where to find it on an RXV:
> Under the seat or on the frame rail
> Near the charger receptacle (electric models)
> Under the dash or glove box area
Once you locate that manufacturer’s code, the last two digits will give you your cart’s year. For example, if the code ends in “16,” your cart is from 2016.
If you find the code and need help decoding it, just reply with it and we’ll get you the exact year.
I am looking at buying a EZGO and am still having difficulty identifying the serial number on the specific one I am thinking about buying.
On the base of the steering wheel is a sticker with these numbers:
Serial No. 5711476
Model No. 10002915G01
Date Code D1223
Are these the actual serial and model numbers?
How can I find out about transferring or initiating the warranty on the lithium battery?
Here’s a revised version with more appropriate caution:
—
Hi Matt,
Great question! Yes, those are legitimate EZGO identifiers you’re looking at.
The Date Code D1223 most likely indicates your cart was manufactured around 2012, week 23 (roughly late May/early June 2012). EZGO typically uses this format where the first letter is a plant/line identifier, followed by the year and week of production. However, it’s worth noting their coding can vary slightly depending on the specific manufacturing period.
The Serial No. 5711476 and Model No. 10002915G01 are both EZGO’s internal tracking numbers. Based on the format and the presence of a lithium battery system, this appears to be from their TXT or RXV line, though you’d want to confirm the exact model with EZGO directly.
For lithium battery warranty questions, you’ll need to:
1. Get documentation from the seller: Ask for the original purchase receipt and any warranty paperwork
2. Contact EZGO directly: Call their customer service at 1-800-241-5855 or visit ezgo.txtsupport.com
3. Have the serial number ready: They’ll need all those numbers you found to look up the cart’s history
4. Ask about transferability:Not all lithium battery warranties transfer to second owners, so confirm this before purchasing
Most EZGO lithium batteries come with a 3-5 year warranty, but terms vary. Since this is a 2012 cart, any original warranty has likely expired, but it’s always worth checking if there were any extended warranties purchased.
Hope this helps with your purchase decision! Let me know if you have any other questions.
I just bought a 2023 EZGO Valor and would like to know what type of engine it has and whatever other information I can learn from its serial number. The Serial Number is 5754090
Thank you for whatever information you can provide
Hi Fred,
Congratulations on your 2023 EZGO Valor! Great choice for a reliable gas cart.
Your Valor is equipped with EZGO’s EX1 engine, a 150cc (9.15 cu in) single-cylinder, 4-cycle OHV gas engine producing about 11.5 horsepower (8.6 kW). The EX1 replaced older Kawasaki engines around 2016 and offers fuel efficiency, quiet operation, low maintenance, and electronic fuel injection (EFI) for smooth starts and consistent performance.
Regarding your serial number, this falls in the 2023 production range for Valor models (typically the 57xxxx series), which confirms the year. Newer EZGO serials are sequential for warranty and parts ordering without encoded specs like pre-2010 models.
Key specs for your 2023 Valor:
Engine: EX1 (150cc, closed-loop EFI, ~11.5 HP, CVT drivetrain)
Top speed: Approximately 15 to 19 MPH (adjustable via controller)
Fuel capacity: About 5.8 to 6 gallons
If you need parts or have questions about your Valor, feel free to contact us at (937) 459-8891. We are happy to assist.

just trying to figure out my golf cart.
serial# 369380
manuf. code# H0185
any information would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.
Hi Jason,
Based on your manufacturer code H0185, you have a 1985 EZGO gas golf cart (January 1985 production). The “H” indicates a gas-powered model, and “0185” breaks down to 01 (January) and 85 (the year).
With a 1985 date, this is likely a Marathon model, which EZGO produced from 1981-1994.
If you need help finding parts or have questions about your cart, give us a call at (937) 459-8891.
My Ez Go shows a serial number of 5455297, Model number 638541G01 and a date code of C1418, can anyone help me identify this gas cart?
Charles,
We are happy to help you decode your EZGO serial number. You have a 2018 EZGO TXT gas cart.
Here’s how the date code breaks down:
– C = EZGO/Textron manufacturer code
– 14 = Week 14 of the year (early April)
– 18 = 2018
So your cart was manufactured in April 2018.
The model number 638541G01 confirms it’s a TXT gas model. When ordering parts, you’ll want to search for “EZGO TXT” parts and filter for 2018 or the 2008+ TXT generation, as most parts are interchangeable within that range.
If you need help finding specific parts, feel free to give us a call at (937) 459-8891.
What yeasr is my EZGO SN: AA0135-061007
Hi Stan,
Thanks for your comment and for sharing your serial number.
The EZGO number you provided does not match the standard year-identification formats shown in the EZGO serial and manufacturer code guides, where either the first two digits or the last two digits clearly indicate the year depending on era. Because of that, the exact year can’t be confidently decoded from this number alone.
To pinpoint the year, look for a second number on the same tag, often labeled “Mfg Code,” “Date Code,” or “Manufacturer’s Code”; that is usually where the year is encoded for EZGO carts.
If you can share that code, we’d be happy to help decode it for you!
I recently bought an EZGO with the following Ser# 841981 / MFR Code# 12M94. Just trying to find out the actual model so i can order parts and maintenance items
Hi Mike,
Thanks for sharing your EZGO details! The serial #841981 suggests a pre-1982 cart (likely 1976-1981), but the MFR code “12M94” doesn’t match our standard decoding charts for year/model.
To get the exact model (Marathon, S4/S6, etc.) for parts ordering, could you check the full data plate? It’s usually under the passenger glovebox, on the frame rail, or near the seat. Snap a photo if possible!
Feel free to give us a call at (937) 459-8891 so that we can assist you personally to pin down the exact model and year so you’re ordering the right parts.
Very informative info, just purchased a cushman hauler 800x (by Textron) I will be needing parts.
Thank you, Don. We’re so glad you found the article helpful! Congratulations on picking up the Cushman Hauler 800X. Those are solid, hardworking machines built to last.

I could use some help decoding the identity of my EZ-Go golf cart. Any assistance you might be able to provide will be appreciated!
It is a 36V lead acid powered cart.
The a placard attached to the body that read: “FREEDOM”
The data plate reads: Manufacture Code: F398
Serial Number: 1097645
Thank you
Hi Stan,
Thank you for the detailed information — that helps a lot.
Based on your Manufacture Code: F398, here’s how it breaks down:
The letter “F” = June (EZGO uses letters A–L for January–December)
The “3” = 1993
The “98” = 1998
So your cart was manufactured in June 1998.
With a 36V lead-acid setup and the “Freedom” body placard, your cart is most likely a 1998 EZGO TXT Freedom (36V) model.
The serial number 1097645 is simply the unit production number and does not change the model year. The manufacture code is what confirms it.
If you need any parts or have more questions, feel free to browse our inventory or reach out.

Wow…tons of information buy I’m still confused. Serial number is 5573043. Model number is 654597G01. Date code is L2720. Based on what I am reading my cart was manufactured in 2020. I thought I read somewhere that the L was for Liberty but I don’t see any further information on a Liberty model. Then there is the G in the model number that seems to represent gas, but my cart has a 48v lithium ion battery. Can you please help with this?
Hi Pam — thanks for sharing the numbers. It’s understandable why this looks confusing at first because EZGO uses three different identifiers, and they each mean something different. Let’s break yours down.
1. Date Code: L2720
This is the easiest one to decode.
L = December
27 = Day of the month
20 = Year
So your cart was manufactured on December 27, 2020. That part of your interpretation is correct.
2. Serial Number: 5573043
The serial number is mainly a unique production identifier used by E‑Z‑GO for factory tracking. It doesn’t typically tell you the model directly, but it confirms the production sequence for that time period.
3. Model Number: 654597G01
This is where things get confusing for many owners.
The “G” in EZGO model numbers usually indicates the chassis was originally built as a gas configuration.
However, it’s very common for carts to be converted to lithium or electric later, especially in the last few years.
Since you have a 48-volt lithium battery, one of these is likely true:
> The cart was converted from gas to electric/lithium at some point.
> The controller and drivetrain were swapped during a rebuild or upgrade.
The model code refers to the chassis platform, not the current powertrain.
4. About the “L = Liberty” confusion
You probably saw information about the EZGO Liberty, which is a newer 4-forward-facing model. In your case:
The “L” in your date code does NOT mean Liberty.
It is simply the month code for December.
Quick Summary
Manufacture date: December 27, 2020
Serial number: Factory production ID
Model number: Gas-platform chassis code
Current powertrain: Likely a lithium conversion or electric retrofit
Hope that helps. Give us a call if you have any more questions. We are happy to help!
Can you help with year on this cart? It is a gas cart, looking for a replacement motor.
K2597
Serial# – 1055651
Hi Lance,
Thanks for dropping by.
Your cart is a 1997 EZGO gas model, built in week 25 (late June/summer 1997).
K = gas-powered series (Marathon or early TXT style).
25 = production week.
97 = model year.
For 1997 EZGO gas carts, common motors are the Robin EC25-2PP (2-cycle, 24.5 HP) or early Kohler 4-cycle upgrades. Confirm yours by checking the engine stamping (e.g., “EC25-2PP” on the valve cover).
Give us a call at (937) 459-8891 so we can help you pinpoint the exact motor fit. We provide free shipping for parts over $50.
What year model please
F1011376800. Im thinking 01
Hi Clint,
Unfortunately, the serial number alone won’t tell us the year because E-Z-GO carts are usually identified by the manufacturer’s code/date code rather than just the serial number prefix. See if you can check the data plate or another ID tag on the cart. Give us a call and we can try to help you find it. Good luck!
Hi there! I am looking at purchasing an EZGO RXV and would like to figure out the year. I found the serial # tag on the steering column unfortunately blinkers were added and a plactic cover was snapped on to cover the wiring harness and the date code portion of the tag was ripped off. All I have is serial# 5312658 model no, 606600G01 it is 48v electric with 4 12 volt batteries. Is there perhaps another serial # plate somewhere on the vehicle?
Thank you!
Hi Al,
Sorry to hear part of the tag got damaged, but you still have some options.
On the RXV, there are a few other places to look for an additional ID plate or sticker: check along the frame rails under the body (driver’s side is common), near the motor, and in the battery compartment. Some carts also have a sticker under the seat.
If you don’t turn up another plate, reach out to us directly with your serial and model number, and we can help you pin down the production year and make sure you’re ordering the right parts for your 48V RXV.
I have an EZGO ST 4×4 power by Honda
As stated on body decal
Serial # 2221381 the only badge I have seen so far is, please assist identifying year and engine so I can restore w proper parts , thank you in advance
Mark K
Hi Mark,
The 2221381 you found on the body decal is the production sequence, but on its own it won’t lock down the year. EZGO uses a separate manufacturer’s code/plate to identify the model year, and for 1979-and-newer carts the last two digits of that code show the year built.
On the ST 4×4, that plate is often found under the seat, on the frame, near the steering column, or in the passenger-side storage/dash area depending on the model year. You’re looking for a small metal or foil tag with a longer alphanumeric code.
For the engine, the Honda model and serial are usually stamped or stickered on the engine itself, often near the recoil starter or engine cover. Once you have the manufacturer’s code and the Honda engine info, give us a call at (937) 459-8891 and we can help confirm the year and point you to the right parts.
I have looked over the site but still can’t figure out what model this is:
Manu Code: E598
Serial: 1092673
Thinking 1998 just not sure what it is. Can’t find any other markings.
Engine needs some parts.
Thank you.
Hi Michael,
You nailed the year. E598 confirms a May 1998 EZGO TXT (“E” = May, “98” = year). Serial 1092673 fits early TXT production perfectly, post the 1996 Medalist-to-TXT transition.
For 1998, EZGO had fully transitioned to the TXT platform (introduced in 1996), so your cart is almost certainly a TXT.
Give us a call at (937) 459-8891 with the engine details, and we’ll help you track down the right parts.
Trying to figure out year and model of my cart. So I can order a complete rearend.
Manu. Code: E201
Serial Number: 1370459
Thank you
Hi Chris,
The manufacturer code on EZGO carts is normally five characters long: a letter for the month, two digits for the week, and two digits for the year. The code you provided, E201, is only four characters, so it looks like a digit may have been missed when it was written down. The “E” would point to May, but without the full code we cannot confirm the year of the cart.
Serial number 1370459 on its own can fall into a range that overlaps several different model years, and the serial does not tell us whether the cart is gas or electric or which model it is (Marathon, Medalist, TXT, or RXV). That information matters a great deal when ordering a complete rearend, since the rearend assemblies differ between gas and electric carts and between models.
The easiest path forward is to give us a call at (937) 459-8891. We can walk through the full manufacturer code with you, confirm the model and power type, and get you matched with the correct rearend the first time. If you can grab a quick photo of the data plate and have it handy when you call, that helps things move along quickly.
Serial # 2252219 6 seat cart
Looking for the year and any manuals I can get
Hi Rod,
To pin down the year of your cart accurately, we need the date code that goes along with the serial number. The serial number on its own does not map cleanly to a single year, but the date code does. It is usually printed on the same plate as the serial number and made up of a letter followed by four digits, something like J3109 or C1808. Depending on the era of the cart, the plate is often located under the glove box, on the driver-side frame rail, or behind the seat.
On the manuals, what we can pull together depends on the specific model and year. EZGO has built several 6-passenger carts over the years, including the Shuttle 6, Express S6, and Express L6, and the service and owner documentation is model and year specific. Once we know which cart you have, we can match you up with the right materials.
Give us a call at (937) 459-8891 with the date code in hand and we can sort out the year, confirm the model, and get you set up from there.
Carts & Parts
Could you please tell me the info on my cart. SN- 5071051. Date code – J3109. Thanks in advance
Hi Lamar,
The date code J3109 indicates your cart was built in 2009, with the J pointing to October as the production month. That puts the build in the latter part of 2009.
The serial number 5071051 on its own does not tell us which EZGO model you have or whether the cart is gas or electric. In 2009, EZGO was producing both TXT and RXV carts, and both came in gas and electric versions.
The easiest way to handle this is to give us a call at (937) 459-8891. We can walk through it on the phone, get your cart properly identified, and help with whatever you may need from there.
Carts & Parts
Could you tell me year and model for this cart,
Manuf. code D100
Serial # 1262026
Thanks
Hi Jason,
On a standard EZGO from 1979 onward, the manufacturer code is one letter followed by four digits. The letter indicates the production month and the last two digits indicate the model year. A code like F0301 would decode as June 2001, for example.
The code you sent, D100, has only three digits after the letter, so it does not match that standard pattern. That puts us in one of a few possibilities:
1. A digit may have been missed when reading the plate. A 4-digit version of the code would decode cleanly.
2. The letter and the digits may belong to separate fields on the plate. The serial number and the manufacturer code sit close together, and they can be easy to mix when transcribed by hand.
3. The cart may be from an early production run or a special build that used a different coding system.
The serial number on its own (1262026) does not tell us the year either. EZGO serial numbers are sequence numbers, not date encoded, so they cannot be decoded to a model year without the matching manufacturer code.
The fastest way to get this sorted is to give us a call at (937) 459-8891. With you on the line and looking at the cart, we can walk you through the plate location, confirm what is actually printed on it, ask about model badges and whether the cart is gas or electric, and pin down the year and model on the spot. From there we can also line up the right parts if that is what you are working toward.
Hello, I’m trying to find the details (year, model, frame, motor, etc.) on my EZGO. Manuf Code: A400, Serial No. 1247157
Thank you for your assistance.
Hi Dan,
On EZGO carts from 1980 onward, the manufacturer code follows this pattern: a letter for the build month (A=January through L=December) followed by four digits, where the last two digits indicate the model year.
Your code A400 has only three digits after the letter, so it doesn’t match the standard format. A digit may have been missed when reading the plate, or it could be an older/non-standard tag. The serial number 1247157 alone won’t identify the year, model, frame, or motor either.
Look under the passenger-side glove box (TXT/Medalist/Marathon) or on the rear passenger-side frame (RXV) and see if you can find the tag.
You can also give us a call at (937) 459-8891, and we will help you the best we can.
i have an RXV EZGO S# 5314261 model #606600G01 date code L1513 just wondering if you could give me the year and possibly what its worth
Hi Daryl,
You have an EZGO RXV. On these carts, the year is usually determined from the manufacturer/date code rather than the serial number, so L1513 appears to point to a 2013 build. The serial number 5314261 and model number 606600G01 help identify the cart, but the date code is what’s most useful for the year.
Value is hard to pin down exactly without seeing the cart in person. Gas and electric RXVs are priced differently, and on electric models the battery condition has a big impact on value. Body condition, tires, hours, and any upgrades also matter.
As a general guide, a 2013 RXV in good running shape often falls somewhere around $3,500 to $6,000, though local market conditions and battery condition can move that number up or down.
If you need a tighter estimate or help finding parts, give us a call at (937) 459-8891 and we’ll be happy to help.
I am trying to confirm the month my cart was made because it switched front suspension in the third/fourth quarter. It’s J0922. I assumed that was J-September and 22 for the year. Someone then said that EZGO uses A-for July and so on.
Hi Dan,
The confusion here comes down to the code format. On EZGO carts, the leading letter is used as part of the manufacture date code, and in this format J corresponds to October, not September.
The confusion here comes down to how EZGO assigns that leading letter. On EZGO carts the letter marks the month of manufacture and it runs straight through the calendar in order, so A is January, B is February, and it continues all the way to L for December. That means I is September and J is October. Your J reads as October, which actually falls in the fourth quarter rather than the third.
The 22 points to 2022, so J0922 would indicate an October 2022 build.
If your front suspension changed around the third-to-fourth-quarter transition, that would fit an October production date. If you want to confirm it fully, the best check is to match the serial or manufacturer’s code with the cart’s front-end setup.
Hope that helps clear it up.
Hello, I just picked up this EZGO cart and am trying to get parts to make it run again. What is my Model and Year, and can you tell me if this is a 12V, 24V, or 36 etc. Ser # 1022448 and the Manu F code is F0497. I also want to convert this to a Lithium battery and need to know what I need for that. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP
Hi Kevin,
The “F” in your manufacturer code points to April, and “97” indicates a 1997 model year. The exact model and whether it’s gas or electric are best confirmed from the data plate and the battery compartment or engine/motor tag, since EZGO used a few different setups in that era.
For the lithium conversion, the battery voltage, motor type, and controller all matter, so the right kit depends on your cart’s exact configuration. Give us a call at (937) 459-8891 and we can help you identify the cart and make sure you get the right parts the first time.
I have an EZGO serial# 2298488, and I’m not sure of the model or year. Please advise.
Hi Forrest, thanks for reaching out.
Your 2298488 serial number appears to be an older E-Z-GO numeric serial format, so it may indicate a cart from the older production era. That said, the serial number alone usually does not identify the exact model year.
To narrow it down, please check for a manufacturer’s plate or data tag elsewhere on the cart, often under the seat, on the frame, on the dash, or near the battery compartment.
You’re also welcome to call us at (937) 459-8891, and we’ll be glad to help.
