Every owner who needs to identify a Yamaha golf cart can do it with one number stamped or stuck on the frame.

Yamaha built its golf carts across three platforms, and parts rarely cross between them. The G-series, Drive, and Drive2 use different frames, voltages, and cable lengths.
Three problems trip up most owners:
- The serial plate moved five times across the model history, so owners look in the wrong place.
- A zero and the letter O read the same at a glance and lead to two different models.
- A G14 and a G16 look nearly identical from ten feet away.
Carts & Parts identifies Yamaha models by serial number every day and ships the matching parts nationwide. The guide below shows how to identify a Yamaha golf cart by plate location, serial prefix, and body details, then match the right parts.
Key Takeaways
Where is the serial number on a Yamaha golf cart?
The Yamaha golf cart serial number sits in one of five places depending on the platform: stamped on the rear frame cross member on the G1, under the seat on the G2 through G9, inside the driver side dash pocket on the G14 through G22, on the upright engine bay support on the Drive (G29), and on the rear wall of the engine compartment on the Drive2.
How do you read a Yamaha golf cart serial number?
A Yamaha golf cart serial number follows the format JXX-######, where the letter J marks Yamaha and the next two characters identify the model. The prefix JW8 means a gas Drive, JW9 means an electric Drive, JN6 means a gas G16, and J0B means a gas Drive2.
What is the difference between a Yamaha G-series and a Drive?
The Yamaha G-series covers the G1 through G22 models built from 1979 to about 2006, while the Drive (also called the G29) ran from 2007 to 2016 and the Drive2 launched in 2017. Electric G-series carts through the G16 run on 36 volts, and the G19, G22, Drive, and Drive2 run on 48 volts.
Does a Yamaha golf cart have a VIN?
A standard Yamaha golf cart carries a manufacturer serial number rather than a 17 character VIN, because federal VIN rules under 49 CFR Part 565 apply to motor vehicles such as low speed vehicles, not to fleet golf carts. Only a Yamaha built or converted as a street legal LSV receives a full VIN.
Other Notable Takeaways
- Yamaha serial numbers never contain the letter O. Every round character is a zero.
- Photograph the plate once and keep the image with your ownership papers for every future parts order.
- Carts & Parts ships Yamaha parts nationwide with free shipping on orders over $50.00.
How Do You Identify a Yamaha Golf Cart?
You identify a Yamaha golf cart with three checks in order: the serial prefix, the body style, and the drivetrain type, because the G-series, Drive, and Drive2 each have distinct markers in all three. The prefix settles the model, and the body and drivetrain confirm the plate belongs to the cart it is on.
Start with the serial number every time. Two models from the same era can share a roof and a dash while running different voltages underneath.
What Do the First Three Characters of a Yamaha Serial Number Mean?
The first three characters of a Yamaha serial number, such as JW9 or JN8, form the model code that Yamaha uses in its own parts catalogs to sort every component by cart.
Yamaha publishes its golf car parts catalogs sorted by these same model codes, which is why the prefix is the fastest route to a correct part. You can see the code structure on the Yamaha Motor golf car parts catalog, where every catalog is filed under a code such as JB5 or JB6 rather than a marketing name.
The six digits after the dash are a production sequence and do not change the model.
Why Does Identification Matter Before Ordering Parts?
Identification matters because a Yamaha drive belt, generator belt, brake cable, or stop switch is cut and wired for one platform, and a part for a G16 will not fit a Drive even when the two carts look like cousins.
Our Yamaha golf cart parts guide sorts belts, cables, and switches by model code so you can move from serial number to part number in one step.
The same discipline applies across brands. Our E-Z-GO golf cart parts guide starts with the serial plate for the same reason: a TXT and an RXV share a badge and almost nothing else.
Where Is the Serial Number on a Yamaha Golf Cart?
The serial number on a Yamaha golf cart appears under the rear bumper on the G1, under the seat on the G2 through G9, inside the driver side dash pocket on the G14 through G22, on an upright engine bay support on the Drive (G29), and on the rear engine compartment wall on the Drive2. Yamaha changed the location almost every time it changed the frame.
Early carts carry a stamped metal plate. By 2000 the G16 had moved to an adhesive label inside the dash pocket.
Lift the seat first on any cart built after the G1. If the frame is bare, check the driver side dash pocket, then the upright frame member inside the engine bay.
Sam Darnall learned what happens when the identification step gets skipped, and how quickly the right information fixes it:
"I had incorrect information on my cart so I ordered a part that didn't work. I got in touch with Cade and he was very helpful in figuring out what I needed and getting the correct parts to me! Thanks a bunch!"
Stories like that are why Carts & Parts holds more than 2,000 online reviews with a near perfect rating. Confirming the model before the order ships is the whole job.
Which Yamaha Golf Cart Models Were Made in Each Year?
Yamaha golf cart models by year run from the G1 in 1979 through the G22 G-Max in the mid 2000s, then the Drive (G29) from 2007 to 2016 and the Drive2 from 2017 forward, with utility and transport variants such as the Adventurer, Concierge, and UMAX built alongside them.
Match the first three characters of your serial number to the charts below. Gas and electric versions of the same model carry different prefixes because they use different parts.

What Steps Confirm Your Yamaha Model in Five Minutes?
Confirming a Yamaha model takes a phone camera, a flashlight, and the prefix charts above, and the sequence below works on every platform from the G1 to the Drive2.
- Lift the seat and sweep the frame with a flashlight, then check the driver side dash pocket and the rear bumper cross member if the frame is bare.
- Photograph the plate or label in good light so every character is readable, and zoom in to separate zeros from the letter O.
- Match the first three characters against the prefix charts to name the model and power type.
- Confirm gas or electric by looking for an engine or a battery pack, and count the batteries to verify 36 volt against 48 volt.
Keep the photo. Every future parts order starts with that image.

Call or Text (937) 459-8891What Yamaha Golf Cart Model Do I Have?
The Yamaha golf cart model you own reveals itself through platform cues: the G1 lifts its entire rear section for engine access, the G2 and G9 differ by dash molding, the G19 adds a tow/run switch under the seat, the G22 G-Max brought rounded panels, and the Drive introduced the angular body that carried into the Drive2.
Body cues confirm and the serial prefix decides, because a rebuilt cart can wear body panels from a donor.
Symptom: The whole rear body section tilts up to expose the engine and the cart runs a two stroke gas engine or a 36 volt electric pack.
Cause: Yamaha built the G1 from 1979 through about 1986 with a lift up rear section and a two stroke gas option.
What it means: You have a G1, and its two stroke drive belt and generator belt differ from everything that followed.
Symptom: The body matches a G14 or G16, but a tow/run switch sits under the seat and eight batteries fill the tray.
Cause: The G19 is a 48 volt electric platform on the same body family, and it was never offered as a gas cart.
What it means: You own a G19, and its 48 volt controller, solenoid, and charger differ from the 36 volt G14 and G16.
Symptom: The body is angular with a flat front cowl and the serial label sits on an upright inside the engine bay.
Cause: Yamaha launched the Drive (G29) in 2007 on a new frame and moved the label to the engine bay support.
What it means: You own a Drive, and belts and cables from the G-series will not fit.
💡 Tip: Photograph the plate with the flashlight held off to the side. Raking light makes stamped characters pop far better than a straight flash.
Is a Yamaha G29 the same as a Drive?
The Yamaha G29 and the Yamaha Drive are the same cart, because Yamaha kept the internal G29 model designation while marketing the cart as The Drive from 2007 through 2016. A serial prefix of JW8 or JW9 confirms the platform either way.
Which Yamaha golf cart models are 48 volt?
The Yamaha G19, G22, Drive (G29), and Drive2 electric models run on 48 volts with six 8 volt batteries in most configurations. The electric G1, G2, G9, G14, and G16 run on 36 volts with six 6 volt batteries.
Can I tell gas from electric without lifting the seat?
You can usually tell a gas Yamaha from an electric Yamaha by the exhaust outlet under the rear bumper and the fuel filler behind the seat, both of which only a gas cart carries. Electric carts show a charger receptacle on the body instead. Yamaha assigns separate serial codes to gas and electric versions of every model.

What Year Yamaha Golf Cart Do I Own?
The year of a Yamaha golf cart comes from the serial prefix first and the production sequence second, because a prefix such as JN6 pins the cart to the gas G16 run from 1996 to 2002 and the digits after the dash place it inside that window. The prefix carries the era.
Situation: Your prefix names a model with a multi year run and you need a single year for insurance or a title.
Insight: Yamaha publishes manuals by model code and serial range, and the matching manual is the confirmation step. The Yamaha golf car owner's manual library lets you match your code to the correct manual edition.
Recommendation: Pull the manual for your prefix, compare the serial range inside, and record the year with your plate photo.
Used cart shoppers should apply the same test before paying a deposit. Our overview of Yamaha golf carts in Union City covers what to inspect once the year is confirmed.
⚠️ Important: Yamaha serial numbers and part numbers never use the letter O. Every round character is a zero, and typing an O into a lookup returns the wrong model.
A dedicated Yamaha serial number lookup guide with year charts for every prefix is coming to this site in early 2027.
David P needed exactly that kind of confirmation on an older cart before the order went out:
"My experience was excellent. They worked with me to make sure we were getting the correct part for my 1995 cart. Would recommend them and do business with them again."
A 1995 Yamaha lands in G14 territory, where the drive belt and stop switch both have close but incompatible neighbors.
Which Yamaha G29 Parts Depend on the Model Year?
Yamaha G29 parts such as the drive belt and the brake cable changed within the Drive production run, so the year matters as much as the model for yamaha g29 parts orders.
The Yamaha Golf Cart Drive Belt 2007 to 2012 Team Clutch, PN# BLT-0024, fits Drive models with the Team clutch and replaces OEM number JW1-G6241-10-00. Order the Yamaha Drive belt for 2007 to 2012 Team Clutch models only after confirming a JW prefix and a build year inside that window.
Brake cables follow a wider window. The Yamaha Drive G29 Gas Brake Cable, PN# CBL-065, covers gas Drive carts from 2007 to 2014 and fits neither the G-series nor the Drive2.
Owners of a gas Drive in that range can order the Yamaha Drive G29 gas brake cable, PN# CBL-065 with confidence once the serial checks out.
Which Yamaha Drive Parts Carry Across Generations?
Several yamaha drive parts cross platforms, and the generator belt and stop switch are the two most common examples.
The Yamaha Gas Generator Belt, PN# BLT-0002, fits the G2, G8, G9, G14, Drive, and Drive2 gas carts. A gas Yamaha from almost any era can use the Yamaha gas generator belt, PN# BLT-0002.
The stop switch shares that reach. The Yamaha G14 to G29 Drive Stop Switch, PN# 5494, fits the G14, G16, G19, G20, G21, G22, G29 Drive, and Drive2.
Any cart from the mid 1990s forward that cranks but refuses to fire can start its diagnosis with the Yamaha G14 through Drive2 stop switch, PN# 5494.

Does a Yamaha Golf Cart Have a VIN or a Serial Number?
A Yamaha golf cart carries a manufacturer serial number, not a 17 character VIN, unless it left the factory or a certified upfitter as a street legal low speed vehicle. Golf carts built for fleet and private property use fall outside the federal VIN system.
Definition: A VIN is the standardized 17 character identifier that federal rules require on motor vehicles, and the format is set out in 49 CFR Part 565, Vehicle Identification Number Requirements.
Context: Part 565 covers passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles, and low speed vehicles, which is why a Yamaha sold as an LSV carries a VIN while a standard Drive carries a JW9 serial.
Relevance: When a title application, insurance form, or registration asks for a VIN on a standard cart, the serial number goes in that field.
Owners who convert a cart for street use should check state rules before assuming a serial number satisfies registration.
💰 Money-Saver: Confirm the serial prefix before adding a belt or cable to your cart. A correct first order ships free over $50.00, while a wrong order costs return shipping and downtime.
Which Yamaha Golf Cart Accessories and Parts Fit the G-Series?
Yamaha golf cart accessories and wear parts for the G-series span two decades of carts, and the drive belt and choke cable show how wide a single part number can reach.
The Yamaha Drive Belt G2 to G22, PN# BLT-0001, fits every gas G-series cart from the G2 through the G22. Owners of any G-series gas cart can order the Yamaha drive belt for G2 through G22 models, PN# BLT-0001 once the prefix confirms a G-series code.
Choke cables narrow the field. The Yamaha Choke Cable G11 to G22, PN# 4293, fits the G11, G16, G21, and G22 gas carts only.
Owners of those four models can order the Yamaha choke cable for G11, G16, G21, and G22 carts, PN# 4293 once the plate reads JJ, JN6, JR6, or JU0.
| Part | Part Number | Fits These Models | Serial Prefixes to Look For | Does Not Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yamaha Drive Belt G2 to G22 | PN# BLT-0001 | G2, G8, G9, G11, G14, G16, G20, G21, G22 gas carts | J38, J41, JF, JG5, JJ, JN3, JN6, JR, JU0 | G1, Drive, Drive2 |
| Yamaha Drive Belt 2007 to 2012 Team Clutch | PN# BLT-0024 | Drive (G29) gas carts, 2007 to 2012, Team clutch; replaces OEM JW1-G6241-10-00 | JW1, JW8 | All G-series, Drive2, 2013 to 2016 Drive |
| Yamaha Gas Generator Belt | PN# BLT-0002 | G2, G8, G9, G14, Drive, Drive2 gas carts | J38, J41, JF, JG5, JN3, JW1, JW8, J0B | G1, G16, G22, electric carts |
| Yamaha Drive G29 Gas Brake Cable | PN# CBL-065 | Drive (G29) gas carts, 2007 to 2014 | JW1, JW8 | All G-series, Drive2, electric Drive |
| Yamaha G14 to G29 Drive Stop Switch | PN# 5494 | G14, G16, G19, G20, G21, G22, G29 Drive, Drive2 | JN, JR, JU, JW, J0B, J0C | G1, G2, G8, G9 |
| Yamaha Choke Cable G11 to G22 | PN# 4293 | G11, G16, G21, G22 gas carts | JJ, JN6, JR6, JU0 | G14, Drive, Drive2, electric carts |

Call or Text (937) 459-8891What Happens If You Skip Identifying Your Yamaha Golf Cart?
Skipping the identification step on a Yamaha golf cart turns every parts order into a coin flip between the G-series, Drive, and Drive2, and the wrong guess costs time on both ends of the shipment.
- A drive belt cut for the G22 slips on a Drive clutch, and the cart loses power on every incline until the right belt arrives.
- A 36 volt solenoid installed on a 48 volt G19 overheats, and the failure takes the controller with it.
- A brake cable for the Drive2 falls short of the Drive bracket, and the cart sits with no parking brake until a second order ships.
- Restocking fees and return shipping stack up while the cart stays parked through the weekend you planned to use it.
Every one of those outcomes traces back to a plate that was never photographed.
What Does a Correctly Identified Yamaha Look Like?
A correctly identified Yamaha golf cart has a serial prefix on file, a model year confirmed against the manual library, and a parts list that matches the G-series, Drive, or Drive2 platform without a single return.
- Every belt, cable, and switch fits on the first try because the order started with the prefix.
- The title, insurance card, and service records all carry the same serial number and year.
- Parts arrive in days instead of weeks, with free shipping over $50.00 on the correct order.
- A pre-owned purchase closes with confidence because the buyer verified the model before the deposit.

Frequently Asked Questions About Yamaha Golf Cart Identification
How do I find the serial number on a Yamaha G29?
You find the serial number on a Yamaha G29 Drive on an upright frame support inside the engine compartment, visible once the seat is lifted. Yamaha moved the label there in 2007 when the Drive launched. The prefix reads JW8 on gas carts and JW9 on electric carts.
What does JW mean on a Yamaha golf cart serial number?
The JW prefix on a Yamaha serial number identifies the Drive (G29) platform built from 2007 through 2016. The third character separates gas from electric, with JW8 marking gas and JW9 marking electric. We check the full three character code before shipping parts.
Is a Yamaha Drive the same as a G29?
The Yamaha Drive and the Yamaha G29 are the same cart under two names. Yamaha used G29 as the engineering designation and The Drive as the marketing name from 2007 through 2016. When you order from us, either name plus your serial prefix gets you the correct belt or cable.
How can I tell if my Yamaha golf cart is 36 volt or 48 volt?
You can tell a 36 volt Yamaha from a 48 volt Yamaha by reading the battery labels under the seat, since six 6 volt batteries make 36 volts and six 8 volt batteries make 48 volts. The G19, G22, Drive, and Drive2 run 48 volts.
Where is the serial number on a Yamaha Drive2?
The serial number on a Yamaha Drive2 sits on the rear wall of the engine compartment, and newer units also carry an identification label near the steering column. The Drive2 launched in 2017 with prefixes such as J0B for gas and J0C for electric.
Can I identify a Yamaha golf cart without the serial plate?
You can narrow a Yamaha model without the plate by using body cues such as the G1 lift up rear section, the G2 aluminum dash trim, the G19 tow/run switch, and the G22 rounded panels. Body cues cannot confirm the year or the voltage, so we recommend locating the plate before any parts order.
What year did Yamaha stop making the G-series?
Yamaha ended the G-series with the G22 G-Max around 2006, then replaced the lineup with the Drive (G29) in 2007. Utility variants such as the G23 and G28 continued a few years longer. If your cart has a JU prefix, you own one of the final G-series designs and we stock belts and cables for it.
Do Yamaha golf carts have a VIN?
Yamaha golf carts built for fleet and private property use carry a manufacturer serial number, not a 17 character VIN. Federal VIN rules under 49 CFR Part 565 cover low speed vehicles, so only a Yamaha built or certified as an LSV receives a VIN. When a form asks for a VIN on a standard cart, we advise entering the serial number.
Which Yamaha models share the same drive belt?
Yamaha gas carts from the G2 through the G22 share the drive belt sold as PN# BLT-0001, while the Drive with a Team clutch from 2007 to 2012 uses PN# BLT-0024. We match the belt to your serial prefix before it ships.
Can you help me identify my Yamaha golf cart over the phone?
We can identify your Yamaha golf cart over the phone or by text when you send a clear photo of the serial plate to (937) 459-8891. Our parts team reads the prefix, confirms gas or electric, and names the platform in minutes. You then get a parts list that fits without a return.

What year and model is this jw8505453
Hello,
Based on your serial number JW8-505453, you have a 2013 Yamaha DRIVE golf cart.
The JW8 model code indicates a Yamaha DRIVE (YDRA series), with JW8 serial numbers ranging from 2011-2013. Since your serial number (505453) falls well above the 300101 starting point for 2013 models, this confirms it’s a 2013 production year.
The Yamaha DRIVE was introduced in 2007 and continued through 2016, representing Yamaha’s premium line before The Drive (Drive2) was introduced in 2017. Your 2013 model would be one of the later DRIVE models with updated features.
If you need specific parts or accessories for your cart, make sure to reference it as a 2013 Yamaha DRIVE (or YDRAL model code) when ordering to ensure compatibility. The DRIVE models have different specifications than the earlier G-series carts, so getting the right year-specific parts is important.
Hope this helps identify your cart!
What year is a J24-003804
Hi Connie,
Your Yamaha golf cart with serial number J24-003804 is a 2024 gas-powered model.
Here’s how your serial number breaks down:
J = Gas-powered model
24 = 2024 model year
003804 = Production sequence number
Because your production number is fairly low (003804), your cart was likely built early in the 2024 production run.
If you ever need parts, accessories, or advice for your 2024 Yamaha, we carry a wide selection here at Carts & Parts and would be happy to help you keep your cart running its best.
Hope this helps!
Can you tell me model and year ? And what all the numbers mean ?
JUO-009437
Thanks
Scott, thanks for your comment!
Based on the serial number you provided—JUO-009437—your cart is a Yamaha G22 gas model.
The “JUO” prefix (often written as “JU0” with a zero) identifies the model, and Yamaha used that prefix for the G22 gas carts produced in 2003–2004. The numbers that follow (009437) are simply the unique production sequence assigned to your specific cart.
If you’d like to pin down whether it’s a 2003 or 2004, a Yamaha dealer can match the production number to their records. Otherwise, you can be confident that you have a G22 gas model from that time frame.
Let us know if you need help with parts or accessories for your G22 — happy to point you in the right direction!
What year is my jn3 k8297-00
Hello David,
Based on the serial number prefix JN3, this is a 1994-1995 Yamaha G14 gas golf cart.
Here’s what the numbers tell us:
> JN3 = Model code for Yamaha G14 gas-powered golf carts
> The G14 models with the JN3 prefix were produced specifically in 1994 and 1995
> K8297-00 appears to be a part number for a caution plate on this model
To confirm the exact year, we’d need the full serial number including the digits that follow (the sequence after “JN3” determines the year of production). Look under the driver-side glove compartment, under the seat where the floor meets the motor compartment, or under the rear bumper on the frame.
Let us know when you find it so we can pin down the exact year.
What year and model is my Yamaha golf cart with serial # JC0-F179T-01
Hi Jim,
Unfortunately, the serial number you’ve provided (JC0-F179T-01) doesn’t match the typical Yamaha golf cart serial number patterns. The “JC0” prefix is unusual for standard Yamaha golf cart models.
To accurately identify your cart, we recommend:
1. Check for a model sticker: Look under the driver’s seat, on the front shield under the windshield, or in the glove box area for additional identification plates
2. Contact a Yamaha dealer: They can run your serial number through their system for exact year and model information
3. Look for the manufacture date code: There may be a separate date code sticker near the serial number plate
4. Check the engine: Fuel-injected models typically have distinct engine configurations that can help with identification
If you can share where you found this serial number on the cart or provide any additional numbers/codes from the cart, we may be able to help further!
With the info provided could you please tell me if this would be enough for ordering parts.
YDRA 2008 JE1-F4236-20 is it aG22 or a G29 type.
Hi Allen,
With “YDRA 2008” and the JE1 code, your cart is a 2008 Yamaha Drive (G29) gas model, not a G22. That is typically enough information for most parts suppliers as long as you tell them it’s a 2008 Yamaha Drive/G29 gas YDRA. For critical components, they may still ask you to confirm the full serial number from the ID plate on the cart, but you’re definitely in the Drive/G29 family rather than the G22 series.
If you let us know what parts you’re after, we can double‑check compatibility for your specific YDRA Drive model. Contact us at (937) 459-8891 or visit our parts store at: https://carts-and-parts.com/parts-accessories/
WHAT IS JW2-206957
Hi Kim! Your serial number JW2-206957 is a 2009 Yamaha Drive (also known as the G29 or YDREX2) and is a 48-volt electric model. The JW2 prefix is Yamaha’s identifier for that model series.
For parts or a service manual, you’ll want to search for “2009 Yamaha Drive Electric” or “2009 Yamaha G29 Electric.” If we can help point you toward anything specific, just let us know!
What year is my cart JW1-219084.
Please
Hi Gary,
The JW1 prefix indicates a Yamaha G29/Drive gas cart, and the serial number range shows that JW1-219084 is a 2009 model.Knowing the year matters when you order parts, since the Drive went through several revisions over its production run and the wrong-year component often won’t fit.
We carry used Yamaha carts along with OEM parts, so if you need anything for the 2009 Drive, give us a call at (937) 459-8891 and we’ll get you matched up with the right pieces.
what year is a J51-100823 the 8 could be a 3
Jerry, good news, the digit you’re not sure about doesn’t change anything. Yamaha puts the model year in the first number after the dash, and yours starts with a 1. So J51-100823 (or 100323, either way) is a 1991 Yamaha G5, the electric Sun Classic. The gas version of that same cart used the J50 prefix, so make sure you’re shopping G5 electric when you look for parts. If you need anything for it, give us a call at (937) 459-8891 and we’ll get you sorted out.
Hi Eduard,
Congratulations on the gift! Your chassis number tells us exactly what you have. The JG5 prefix identifies a Yamaha G9 gas model, and serial 108478 falls in the 1992 production range. So your cart is a 1992 Yamaha G9, and if it’s still running well after three decades, that speaks to how durable these carts are.
Parts availability for the G9 is still solid. Common wear items like drive belts, clutches, carburetors, ignition components, tires, and brake parts are widely available through both OEM and aftermarket suppliers. A few body and trim pieces can take some hunting, but the mechanical side of these carts is well supported.
Since you’re writing from Switzerland, your best route for ordering parts will be an authorized Yamaha golf car dealer or aftermarket supplier in Europe. Searching for the part number along with your model (G9 gas, 1992) will usually turn up several options that ship within the EU and Switzerland.
Can you please provide me with Yamaha year and model for the following code: JC2-105604. I am striking out trying to look it up in a variety of ways. Thank you!
Hi Stephen, happy to help.
The JC2 prefix trips up most lookup tools because it appears only on one specific Yamaha variant: the fuel-injected version of the Drive (G29) gas cart. Yamaha ran that JC2 series from 2014 through 2016, and the first digit after the dash tells you the year. JC2-1 is 2014, JC2-2 is 2015, and JC2-3 is 2016.
So JC2-105604 is a 2014 Yamaha Drive EFI gas cart. Yamaha’s internal model code for it is YDRAX4F. If you look under the seat, the model label on the frame should show that same code.
That matters for parts. The EFI Drive shares most of its chassis and body with the carbureted JW8 series, but the fuel system, throttle body, and some of the electrical components are unique to the fuel-injected cart, so it helps to order by that JC2 prefix rather than just “2014 Drive” whenever you can.
